Preservation LINK, Inc. will begin its SIGHT & SOUND program in June of 2007. SIGHT & SOUND, brings together community partners to instruct youth, ages 15 to 19 years, in the exploration, documentation, and archiving of their community-South Dallas/Fair Park. Under the guidance of professional mentoring and support, students will earn college credit through a course at Dallas County Community College-El Centro. During this course in multimedia skills and social application, students will gain proficiency in: collecting and analyzing audio, photographic, and video data. Including such partners as the Foundation for Community Empowerment, Parkland Health, Teens at Work, and the Dallas County Community College-El Centro, this project will inform individuals who are interested in multimedia skills training programs that encourage educational achievement, technological skill building, and social activism among underserved youth and their communities. If you or someone you know is interested in participating, please contact us at Preservation LINK, Inc.
