Blue Star Club pays tribute to the patriotic spirit of the many key volunteers who devote themselves to the organization in order to express appreciation to the Military. Our Directors, Executive Director and key personnel have agreed to forego any payment to ensure our donor’s charitable intent will fulfill the sending of care packages to service members.
Individuals and companies like Jittery Joes Coffee, who donated coffee for our care packages through collection drives, contribute all contents of the packages. Our budget for 2010-2011 for our goal to ship 10,000 packages is $1. Million, of which $1.1 Million is postage. Our overall cost per package is $40; the donated contents of each package is worth about $30.00, and the postage is $10.00.
